Homework
Homework is usually classwork that has not been finished during class time or a project that needs time outside of class. Most homework has been assigned a week before its due date. If the student procrastinates, the homework may take more time to complete each night before the due date. Pine View does offer after school help, contact your instructor for more information.

Late Work
Every assignment in the course will have a due date. Students are expected to submit assignments on or before the assigned due date, which, in turn, allows your teacher time to review your work and provide meaningful feedback. Due dates will be designated in the course to ensure time is provided to allow you to produce your best work.
We all know that important things in life can sometimes get in the way of our classes. If there are things going on in your life that you anticipate affecting your ability to attend class or complete work on time, please contact me immediately so we can create a plan to ensure your success. If students do not do this, they will receive a late grade. If you recognize a due date might be a problem, advocate for your success by following these steps:
If you are absent, you have as many days as you were absent to make up you work.

Academic Honesty
Academic dishonesty is morally wrong (i.e., it involves lying to or otherwise deceiving others and creates an un-earned and unfair advantage over others). Students are personally responsible for not cheating (i.e., blaming others or the situation are just cheap rationalizations and not acceptable).
Ethics are an integral part of being a student and a professional. Sarasota County Schools does not tolerate academic dishonesty in any form. Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, the unauthorized use of another's intellectual property (plagiarism or copying), lying to an instructor, and/or trading your personal intellectual property with another student. Such actions may result in a failing grade on the assignment with the strong possibility of a referral to your principal. See below for consequences of plagiarism.
SCHOOLOGY uses a plagiarism/AI software checker called COPYLEAKS. Students can view their Copyleaks score in Schoology by uploading a document to the CopyLeaks Assignment and waiting for the plagiarism score to appear. A plagiarism school more than 15% will have a consequence of an F and can also lead to a referral.
